The latest in the Holcim Concept™ concrete range is a low exposure aggregate or as it has become known, “Close Shave”.
“Close Shave” low exposure aggregate is identical to our standard range of exposed aggregate concrete except that a special retarder is used to achieve a smoother finish.
The request for this product came from families with young children, conscious of the many stumbles and falls invariably associated with young kids. By exposing less of the aggregate or stone, a smoother surface is created but at the same time retaining the great look of an exposed aggregate driveway, pathway or patio.
Some people just simply prefer the look of low exposure aggregate over standard exposed aggregate concrete. At Holcim we believe in offering you the choices that you request and Concept™ opens up a palette of colour and choice not available in other types of flooring or paving products.
“Close Shave” low exposure aggregate differs from honed Concept™ in that the aggregate or stones are left intact and different to standard exposed aggregate as there is less of each stone visible, creating a softer effect.
