Lynwood Quarry, Marulan, NSW

Lynwood Quarry is a hard rock quarry to be established on land owned by Holcim (Australia) Pty Ltd (formerly Cemex) to the west of Marulan in the Southern Tablelands Region of New South Wales. The quarry will be located in the Goulburn Mulwaree Local Government Area approximately 160km south west of Sydney and approximately 27km northeast of Goulburn.

Lynwood Quarry Site Location

On December 21st 2005, the NSW Minister for Planning granted Cemex (now Holcim Australia) consent for the proposed 5 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) Lynwood Quarry.

Environment Impact Statement

As part of the application to the Department of Planning, a detailed Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) was prepared. This report assesses the potential environmental effects of the project and outlined proposed methods for addressing these. Areas of assessment included: socio-economics, soils, air quality, traffic, groundwater, surface water, ecology, noise and blasting, Aboriginal archaeology and historic heritage.
