Planning, approvals & reporting

Consent

On 21 December 2005, the NSW Minister for Planning granted Cemex (now Holcim Australia) consent for the proposed 5 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) Lynwood Quarry. Since the original development approval, three minor modifications have been made to the Development Consent, including reconfiguring of the rail load out and site facilities to optimise site infrastructure and layout.

Environment Impact Statement (Original)

As part of the application to the Department of Planning, a detailed Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) was prepared. This report assesses the potential environmental effects of the project and outlined proposed methods for addressing these. Areas of assessment included: socio-economics, soils, air quality, traffic, groundwater, surface water, ecology, noise and blasting, Aboriginal archaeology and historic heritage. The EIS can be viewed via the links below:

Modification No. 4

On 18 November 2015 Holcim (Australia) Pty Ltd lodged an application to modify the Lynwood Quarry Development Consent. The modification seeks to transition from an existing, approved extraction area to a granite extraction area. There is no proposed change to hours of operation, approved throughput, the screening house location or rail siding. The full application documentation is available on the Department of Planning and Environment's website:
