About Beenleigh Quarry


Holcim Australia recognises the importance of providing all employees, contractors, labour hire employees and visitors with a safe and healthy work environment.

Our goal is the elimination of all injuries, occupational illnesses and preventable vehicular incidents. 

Beenleigh Quarry holds daily pre-start safety sessions and regular Toolbox Talks on safety and occupational health issues to maintain focus and ensure all processes and procedures are carried out in a safe manner.



Approximately 140 people are directly or indirectly employed at Beenleigh Quarry on a regular basis including 50 full time employees, 20 regular contractors and 80 drivers and other local contractors.

Holcim invests in and cares about the wellbeing of our people.  We hold regular health and wellbeing seminars on site accessible by everyone.

Operating hours

Beenleigh Quarry operates Monday through to Friday from 7am to 6pm for extraction, processing and sales, with some planned maintenance works permissible to 10pm. Saturday mornings from 8am to 12noon for sales, carting and maintenance only.


Blasting at Beenleigh Quarry is carried out by a licensed contractor and generally occurs once a month. No explosive materials are stored on site.

SMS blast notification system

SMS notifications will go out on the day of blasting to inform local residents of the estimated blast time.


Holcim have supplied many local and regional construction projects in the Brisbane and Gold Coast area since the quarry opened began operating in 1987 including the Brisbane Inner City Bypass, Tugun Bypass, Clem Jones Tunnel, Brisbane Airport Link.

Our products are also used locally in the construction of residential housing, hospitals, schools and commercial precincts. 

Beenleigh Quarry was a major supplier to the Commonwealth Games Village in Parklands, Gold Coast for the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
