Holcim is committed to the responsible utilisation of our country’s natural resources.
Environmental management and compliance of the Beenleigh Quarry operation is regulated by the State Government Department of Environment and Heritage Protection (DEHP) in accordance with Environmental Authority and the requirements under the Environmental Protection Act.
Regular environmental monitoring occurs as part of the operation of the quarry: including noise and vibration from blasting, dust and stormwater.
All environmental monitoring is carried out in accordance with our Environmental Authority and relevant Australian Standards.
Holcim will continue monitoring for another month to gather further data. Full findings will be communicated once the study is completed.
Southern Lands Management Project
The Southern Lands Management Project was created in 2012 to monitor and improve environmental issues resulting from environmental damage caused by unlawful entry and activity within the southern lands boundary of Holcim’s Beenleigh Quarry.
Considerable effort has gone into developing and implementing a monitoring and remediation strategy to repair this damage together with natural environmental degradation.
