Cassie Andrews joined the business in 2007 as a Customer Service Officer. Today she leads mobile projects across Western Australia.

“I decided early on that I wanted to further my career, so I completed a Bachelor of Commerce while I worked. That opened the door to project work, and I spent years on site, working fly-in fly-out (FIFO) on major resource projects from Barrow Island to the Goldfields.”

As Mobile Projects Manager, WA, Cassie now oversees estimating, tendering and contracts for mobile projects. She also leads the team that gets Holcim’s WA FIFO workforce to site.

In September, Cassie was one of 26 women from Holcim businesses around the world at the SHE Leads immersion week in Zug, Switzerland.

“It was a transformative week. We worked on leadership presence, communications and personal brand, and heard directly from senior leaders including Holcim Group CEO Miljan Gutovic.

“No one is perfect, but having the courage to step outside your comfort zone creates growth. There are many opportunities within Holcim, and I’ve been supported to take them.”

The program continues for five months. Cassie is being mentored by Holcim Group’s Sustainable Brands Product Manager, Abdur Rahman Awad, and joins regular sessions with her cohort and senior leaders (pictured above).

“I started at Holcim 19 years ago. Now I want to bring the inspiration from Switzerland back to our local teams and be a champion for other women who are where I once was, starting out in their careers.”
