Holcim supporting women and children experiencing domestic and family violence

Building materials supplier Holcim Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) today announced a new sponsorship of RizeUp.  CEO George Agriogiannis confirmed the partnership is an important element of the organisations’ efforts to support local communities in which it operates.

“We want to support women and children who experience domestic and family violence by partnering with RizeUp. Our financial contribution and employee volunteering efforts, will enable practical support for people who often have to flee their home with nothing but the clothes on their backs,” said Mr Agriogiannis.

CEO and Founder of RizeUp Australia Nicolle Edwards expressed her excitement about the new partnership.

“There is much more to do in terms of education and advocacy around domestic and family violence. We know that corporate partnerships have great capacity to change the outcomes for the most vulnerable within our community.”

“RizeUp is an organisation built around practical and immediate responses that not only simultaneously drives awareness to domestic and family violence within the community, but it also meets critical needs and ensures people have a safe, comfortable home within which to anchor their trauma recovery. I am thrilled to be celebrating the partnership between RizeUp and Holcim ANZ. I am confident that together we will create exceptional results,” said Ms Edwards.

RizeUp is supported by Patrons including Shelley Craft, Mia Freedman and Cameron Daddo who help raise awareness of the key issues driving domestic and family violence.

The RizeUp partnership is a diversity and inclusion initiative which forms part of the Holcim ANZ Country Strategy. It is aligned to the Holcim Ltd 2030 People Strategy targets of bridging the housing and infrastructure gap and upholding human rights. The RizeUp initiative follows recent announcements of new sustainability partnerships with Greening Australia and Trees that Count and release of an inaugural Reconciliation Action Plan.
