Holcim Australia Partners with headspace to Champion Youth Mental Health

Holcim Australia is proud to announce a new partnership with headspace, the National Youth Mental Health Foundation, to help more young Australians and their families access timely and inclusive support.

Launched to coincide with World Mental Health Day, the partnership will provide financial support for headspace programs and create opportunities for Holcim employees to play an active role in strengthening youth mental health. Through training, workplace initiatives and volunteering opportunities, employees will be educated in ways to support young people, their families, and their communities.

George Agriogiannis, CEO of Holcim Australia and New Zealand, said:

“At Holcim, our purpose is to build progress for people and the planet, and The Holcim Spirit guides how we do that. Our NextGen Growth 2030 strategy is about creating sustainable progress for future generations, with a strong focus on people and communities. I’m pleased that our newly created partnership with headspace is a direct reflection of that commitment; caring for the communities in which we work, supporting young Australians, and making a real difference where it matters most.”

Helen Jones, Chief People Officer, Holcim Australia and New Zealand, said:

“headspace plays a vital role in supporting the mental health and wellbeing of young people across Australia, and we’re proud to partner with them in this meaningful initiative. It reflects our commitment to fostering wellbeing across our organisation and within the broader community, and aligns closely with our People Strategy. Through shared learning and advocacy, we aim to strengthen awareness and support for mental health in the communities where we live and work.

Within Australia, the partnership comes at a critical time for youth mental health, with demand for services increasing across the country. Holcim’s financial contribution will help headspace expand its evidence-based programs and extend its reach to more young Australians.

Jason Trethowan, CEO of headspace, said:

“Over nearly two decades, headspace has grown into a national network backed by rigorous research and evaluation, supporting more than one million individual young Australians to date. Our evidence-based approach helps us continually refine mental health, physical health, drug and alcohol, and vocational services for 12–25-year-olds. We’re excited to work with Holcim to reach even more communities, strengthen family-inclusive practice, and foster greater wellbeing across Australia.”

Together, Holcim Australia and headspace are helping young Australians build stronger foundations for their mental wellbeing.
