Celebrating Neville's 40 years with Humes
Meet Neville Schrober, Production Planner with Humes Pooraka in South Australia. This year Neville celebrates 40 years with the business and it is fair to say that over that time he has learnt a thing or two about what it takes to keep his customers happy and the ingredients to a fulfilling career.
I have been very fortunate in my career. I’ve spent 40 years doing what I love. I always strive to be honest and truthful in how I approach everything - I think if you value these traits on the inside, people eventually can see that.
‘Always be honest and truthful to yourself’, that’s the key to a long and healthy career, according to Neville Schober who this year celebrates 40 years with Humes.
As Production Planner at Humes Pooraka in South Australia, no two days are ever the same. And Neville would not have it any other way.
“I’m involved in all aspects of the site’s operation. From planning site production, delivering world-class customer service, as well as advising on our Operations and Sales processes keeps me busy and ensures the site runs smoothly,” Neville says.
South Australian born and bred, Neville joined Humes straight out of school. Beginning his career in a country factory, Neville was employed in a customer administration and dispatch role in the Riverland District, which is where his passion for working with people as diverse as the products he provides was born.
“I love the daily interactions I have with our brilliant employees and customers from wide-ranging backgrounds. From engineers and builders, to local government teams, our product range allows me to provide solutions to a wide and varied group of customers.”
“I also get a lot out of hitting targets and working with our customers to establish a plan and then I go about exceeding their expectations - that really excites me!”
At the heart of Neville’s success has undoubtedly been the trust he instills in those he works with. Throughout his 40 years with Humes, Neville has built lifelong relationships both within and outside of the business.
